Founded in August 2011, the four iMums have 11 kids among them ranging in age from 1 to 17 and bring a global perspective to their app reviews with the original iMum Amanda being from Australia, Alison is in America, Grace is from Singapore and Mary is from the UK but is currently living in America.
At six years old, the Australian-based blog already boasts hundreds of reviews on family friendly iOS and MacOS apps and products as well as a rapidly growing network of thousands following on Facebook and Twitter. To learn more, please watch the video below (and share it with your friends!).
Meet Alison
Alison, the American iMum is from Massachusetts. She lives there with her sons and husband. In their spare time, they enjoy playing outside, enjoying nature and of course testing apps and fantastic products on their devices. They have a variety of devices including an iPad, iPhone, and an iPod and is often found with a device! My older son loves technology and loves testing out the “latest and newest” apps and tech. I love sharing information about apps and products with others to help them make decisions without feeling overwhelmed with all of the choices.
Meet Amanda
I’m a busy mother of three young boys and have a background in I.T Support and Business Administration. I have a passion for reading, cooking and blogging; I love all things WordPress and have an obsession with anything Apple. Having been an Apple enthusiast since 2005, I was donned the nickname ‘The iMum’ due to my growing addiction to their products and my many, many apps. In August 2011, I decided to put my knowledge to good use and created a website of the same name to offer an avenue for parents to learn more about iOS and MacOS apps for their children so they can make an informed decision about which ones to purchase without having to trawl through thousands of apps themselves.
Meet Grace
Grace is a mother of 4 children aged from 9 to 21 years. The family of 6 loves to explore their neighborhood in Singapore and travel overseas during the school breaks. Her kids like to hang out together playing the iPad in their free time. At other times, the iPad is used mainly for educational purposes by her youngest son who has special needs.
She checks the daily free apps listing and is most excited to share good app finds. Living in fast-paced education-obsessed Singapore, Grace recharges her energy by watching K drama on the iPad (there are apps for that too!)
Meet Mary
I’m Mary Mahon the British iMum. Although I am originally from England I now live in California with my husband, dog, cat and three children. I have a 10 year old son and twin 7 year olds -a son and a daughter. My background isn’t technical at all – I was a Veterinarian before becoming a stay-at-home mum! I am a long time Mac owner and I got my first iPad in April 2011. My daughter has Apraxia (a severe speech disorder) and I was totally amazed by how the iPad engaged her for doing Speech Therapy practice. I started researching and learning about apps -both for fun and for education, and built up a sizeable app collection. I found some truly great apps and others that were not worth keeping. Soon I found I was spending a lot of time giving friends (and developers) advice on apps, so I decided to start reviewing apps to help other parents find the best apps and technology products available. My family and I love Apple products and own an iPad2, iPad3, iPad Mini, iTouch, iPhone5 and several MacBook Pros. We also love cub scouts/ girl scouts, soccer, skiing, camping and hiking.
