A magical city-building app, built for little fingers

Sago Mini’s new app ‘Sago Mini Town’ launches April 13, turning preschoolers into pint-sized city planners. Inspired by classic city-building playmats, Town gives kids the building blocks to create the city of their dreams.  Four unique locations and dozens of animated story tiles – familiar landmarks like roads, houses, shops and nature – create endless creative combinations, and an intuitive drag and drop menu gives little ones the power to build (and rebuild) all on their own.

Expect visits from favourite Sago Mini characters – kids can move Jack, Jinja, Robin and Harvey around their towns to watch them transform! The characters may cruise by in a car, strut their stuff with a funny hat or explore the seas in a pirate ship. The more they play, the more hidden tiles they’ll uncover – like a volcano, rocket launcher or the ever-elusive rainbow treasure chest!

Other features:

  • Four unique locations spark storytelling

  • Drag and drop story tiles create endless combinations

  • Animated surprises are uncovered as kids play

  • Promotes explorative play and creative storytelling

  • No rules or time pressure — kids can explore at their own pace

  • No WiFi or internet needed to play – perfect for adventuring

  • Ideal for toddlers and preschoolers, ages 2-5

  • Whimsical artwork and custom sound design

  • No in-app purchases or third-party advertising

    Summary

Fun toddler and preschool safe toys with no eyes that allow you to have imaginary play.

Bring your apps to life with soft cuddly toys from Sago Sago!  These 6 in plush toys feature Harvey the Dog, Jinja the Cat, Robin the Bird, and Jack the Rabbit and are the animals featured in apps.  They are soft and fun for toddlers and preschoolers – even my first grader liked seeing the toys bring the apps to life!  The animals have no “eyes” or items that can be pulled off which makes them toddler safe and means you don’t have to worry about them going in your child’s mouth.

My toddler was fascinated with the box – he loved opening and shutting the cardboard door and playing with the toys when it arrived.  My older son decided to decorate it for him with markers and crayons.  The animals are soft and easily cleanable.  The directions state you can use cold water, but I also used baby wipes with lots of success after a spill of juice on the dog.   We also used them to name the different animals and colors as well as the sounds they made which was great for receptive and expressive language!

In terms of improvements, including coloring pages, or crayons or makers inside the box would be great. My kids both knew about Sago Sago and I had one of the apps on my iPad when they arrived. There are hang tags which give you a code for a free Sago Mini Friends app which you can install on your device.  There was no advertising of the apps inside the box, and another child might not have made that connection.  My older son also wanted to see crayons or markers inside the box so he could begin his decorating right away!

Overall, these are fun plush toys that will bring your kids hours of fun – my kids loved playing with them and going in and out of the house.

Sago Sago Releases New Sago Mini Plush Gift Pack
Award-winning play studio also announces its 16th app, Sago Mini Superhero

TORONTO — Just in time for the holidays, Sago Sago, an award-winning Toronto-based play studio, today announces the availability of its new plush toys — the Sago Mini Plush Gift Pack. The studio, regarded as the most trusted brand of apps for young kids, will also release its newest digital toy — Sago Mini Superhero — on November 26.

New Sago Mini Plush Gift Pack

Sago Sago delivers positive opportunities for kids to play with beautifully-designed products created specifically for kids ages two to four. This design principle is strongly woven into all of the studio’s apps, and can now be seen clearly in its new consumer products, even in the packaging.

The new Sago Mini Plush Gift Pack brings to life the characters toddlers have embraced from the Sago Mini apps. Harvey the Dog, Jinja the Cat, Robin the Bird, and Jack the Rabbit now come to life as an adorable set of six-inch plush toys that are handcrafted and made from premium materials. The set comes in a unique cardboard box that magically transforms into a house kids can decorate, color and then play with as they create stories with their new friends.

“We have a strong audience of fans and after a successful pilot test of plush toys last year it’s clear there is great demand for more products beyond our apps,” said Sago Sago CEO, Jason Krogh. “Our designers are doing amazing work taking the design philosophy behind our apps and applying it to the world of physical toys. The new Sago Mini Plush Gift Pack is just the first of many new products we are developing.”

The new Sago Mini Plush Gift Pack is available on Amazon and at www.SagoMini.com for $39.99 USD. They will also be available at select physical retailers.

NOTE these are currently on sale for $10 off! Hurry!

New Digital Toy — Sago Mini Superhero

The plush toys build on the success of Sago Sago’s digital toy portfolio of 16 apps, which have been downloaded over 8 million times worldwide. Its newest app — Sago Mini Superhero — will hit the App Store on November 26. Starring Jack the Rabbit as the superhero, the app is filled with beautifully rich animations for kids to explore. Kids can fly through the city with Jack as he lifts impossible weights, breaks up a fight and goes for a ride in his carrot-copter.

Teaching small children to believe in their ability to make a difference and help one another can start with play. Sago Mini Superhero encourages exploration and helpfulness, and has a good dose of silly to keep kids engaged. The app empowers kids to practice heroism and conflict resolution.

Sago Mini Superhero is free of rules, levels and high scores. Like all of the Sago Mini apps, there are no in-app purchases or third-party ads, making Sago Sago a brand kids love and parents trust. Sago Mini Superhero will be available on the App Store starting November 26 for $2.99 USD.

    What we love…

the cute characters and the different pretend play spots available

    What we’d love to see…

    nothing, we love it!

    Summary

This cute app is another beautifully made Sago Mini app that little ones will love!

    Our Rating

Sago Mini Babies by Sago Sago is an adorable new app little ones will love. Children aged 2 to 5 years old will love caring for their favourite Sago Mini characters, only this time the characters will be in their nappy/diaper.  The app encourages children via pretend play to do real life activities which range from feeding, bathing to dress up and more!  This is a great app for toddlers, preschoolers or a soon to be older brother or sister and will help them understand about their sibling to be.

We loved this cute app, it is very easy for little ones to use and so much fun! They get to choose from four baby characters and eight different pretend play activities. All they have to do is touch the little characters and slide them through the play areas and click on the little star near the activity to enter. Once inside the play area, they can interact with the characters and click on the arrow at the top of the activity to exit. They can feed, bathe, play, dress up and play music with their little character as well as put them down for a sleep or change their nappy/diaper.

My daughter loved the cute little pink bird Robin, she loved caring for her especially giving her a bottle, feeding her lots of baby food, bathing her and putting her down for her nap. She was quite happy going through each activity as they come and trying them out. This app is perfect practice for her as she will soon be a big sister!

There is nothing we would change about the app as both my daughter and I really enjoyed playing with it.  We could not fault this app as it very easy to use and is so well designed, nothing extra is needed!

This app has no in-app purchases or third-party advertising. It does however have a locked parents section with information about the app and a ‘more apps’ section that is also locked with a swipe request.

Like all Sago Mini apps, Sago Mini Babies has beautiful illustrations, sounds and quirky interactions and surprises for little ones to explore.  My daughter loved it especially Robin!
